I think it's so wonderful that you have set up this foundation to help others. Thank you for offering your support and friendship when we met in the cemetary. This has been the hardest year of my life-no one should ever have to lose their children.

Bloomsday was wonderful!! Getting to spend it with some of the people that loved Mason with all their hearts. What a warm fuzzy feeling it was to have all the memories of my baby boy running through my mind with each and every step I took. Not to mention getting to see Kayla(one of the big sissys) for the first time in long time. Mason you will be living through all of us forever and always! I love you

Shana, what a beautiful, helpful and ethical way to keep Masons memory alive. I acknowledge you for the courage it took to embrace the grief to ensure something postive would come out of Masons passing. You are a beautiful and amazing woman. Best of luck with the Mason Kane Foundation. What a worthwhile service to provide!

Shana....... I can see the love for your Mason was shaken to your core...... Nothing can erase the scars, but this is a wonderful thing you are doing in your son's memory. As I read, I wondered how I would feel to lose either of my sons......I would have a very hard time with it. I'm barely paying my bills and supplying myself with some wood to use in my shop......so, I can't offer money........but, if you'd like......you may have one of my hand-made bowls in Mason's remembrance. You may sell it for the Mason Kane foundation on this site.....or, do with it as you wish. Let me know..... Kelly Odell

Shana is my daughter; Mason my greatgrandson. I believe that starting this foundation and helping others will be, with God's love, what will allow her to get through each day. I was truly worried about her ability to get through this horrendous loss-Mason was such an integral part of her life while he was living-now he still is with this foundation. Anything anyone can do to help others through this will be greatly appreciated. God bless. I love you, Shan. Mom

Oh man I miss that baby boy. I miss the huge grin. It was so easy to get it out of him. Our Oregon trip is going to seem like so much more to me now. It was a wonderful vacation, but also the last time I saw my precious baby nephew. If I would have known things were to end shortly after that I would have spent that whole vacation just looking into those beautiful eyes. I suppose that is how life is though. We don't realize how short it can really be. Every day I try to remember how important the little things are, and Mason reminds me to take every moment and tuck it away somewhere safe. So we will always have those memories to cherish, and look back on and never forget the ones we love. This foundation is so important to our family. Shana is an amazing person and was such a huge part in Mason's life. She knew just what to do to keep Mason's memory alive. I can't wait to see things when they really start to get rolling and to see all the people it will help in a time of need. Love Auntie Maycie

I am Mason's uncle from his mother Tabitha. I remember the day he was born was rushed over to the hospital with his dad to see him and his mother, praying that they were ok. I remember helping my sister and Devon raise him for the first almost 6 months of his life, and then I moved to my own house. At the time me, my sister, and Devon all lived together in our house that we had when I first moved to Montana. a lot of the times when mommy and daddy had to go to work I would watch Mason. Rock him to sleep, feed him, every once in awhile change him. Sometimes we would lay on the recliner or the couch and he would lay on my chest next to my heart and he wo! uld fall to sleep by the sound of my heart beating. I have plenty of memories of him and will always. I loved that little boy and now just reading that story and writing this makes my eyes water up so much. Thanks to all that were in his life and helped out so much in his life. Shana and Bret, Tabitha and Devon you guys were the best parents and grandparents that this little boy could ever hope for. Thank you all again, and I will always love and cherish you Mason Kane or as I sometimes called him Bapabooie.

I pray every day that you will see a little more sunshine and have a little more peace in your heart. Love you so much and can't wait to run/walk/crawl Bloomsday with you!! xoxo Ang
